Pastor Adeboye alleges sabotage of Dangote Refinery by oil cartel

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, has blown the whistle on an alleged scheme by an oil cabal in Nigeria, working in tandem with international oil companies, to sabotage private refineries like Dangote Petroleum Refinery.

During his address at the November 2024 Abuja Special Holy Ghost service on Thursday, Adeboye urged Nigerians to pray for divine intervention to thwart the plans of unscrupulous oil marketers bent on causing hardship for the people.

Adeboye’s revelation comes on the heels of previous sabotage incidents that crippled Nigeria’s four state-owned refineries.

The cleric pointed out that despite billions of Naira invested in these refineries, none of them is operational.

“Are we under a curse?” he asked, highlighting the irony of Nigeria’s reliance on fuel imports despite being a significant crude oil producer.

However, Adeboye praised Aliko Dangote, the founder of Dangote Petroleum Refinery, for building a functional refinery.

“God raised someone to build a refinery that works. He is not my relative; he is not from my village. He is not even a Christian, but he is a Nigerian who says, ‘Why should my people suffer when I have the means to build a refinery that can work?'”

Meanwhile, the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has agreed to purchase petrol directly from Dangote Refinery.

Nigerians continue to bear the brunt of high fuel prices, with petrol selling for N1060 and N1200 at NNPC stations and other retail outlets
