In a coordinated operation on Monday, security forces led by the Police successfully rescued 36 kidnapped victims in the Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State. All victims were recovered unharmed.

Kebbi State Police spokesperson, SP Nafiu Abubakar, revealed that the incident occurred on December 8, 2024, around 6:00 PM when armed bandits barricaded the Mairairai/Bena road, abducting at least 30 people.

Upon receiving the distress report, a swift response team comprising the Police, military, and local vigilantes was dispatched to the scene. They engaged the bandits in a gunfight, ultimately overpowering them with superior firepower. The assailants fled, abandoning the 36 victims, who were immediately rescued and reunited with their families.
