Pre-season: Arsenal beat Man United in Los Angeles

Arsenal defeated their Premier League rivals Manchester United 2-1 in a preseason encounter at Los Angeles, USA early Sunday Nigeria time.

Striker Rasmus Hojlund and £52m new signing Leny Yoro both suffered first-half injuries.

Hojlund had given his side the lead in the 10th minute of the game.

Gabriel Jesus levelled with a controversial close range finish after 25 minutes, before substitute Gabriel Martinelli cut inside 17-year-old rookie full-back James Scanlon to score the winner.

United did triumph in a pre-arranged penalty shoot-out that followed, with Jadon Sancho scoring the decisive spot-kick to seal a 4-3 win.

There is now injury concerns in the Manchester United camp, with less than three weeks left for the start of the new Premier League season.
