Producer shelves release of Liam Payne’s posthumous song after backlash
The Grammy award-winning producer, Sam Pounds, has decided against releasing the posthumous song by late singer Liam Payne after a backlash.
Payne’s fans reacted furiously after the producer revealed that the singer’s track, “Do No Wrong,” would be released just two weeks after his death.
In a statement, Pounds said he would leave the decision on the release of the song to the deceased’s family.
He said: “I want all proceeds to go to a charity of their choosing (or however they desire). Even though we all love the song, it’s not the time yet.”

In a chat with Daily Star, celebrity PR expert, Kayley Cornelius, offered her thoughts on the planned release of Payne’s song.
She said: “Considering how soon this announcement came after his death, it’s highly unlikely that the label reached a mutual agreement with his family to publish this material, or settled crucial issues like licensing rights and the allocation of profits.
‘‘So, if the label were to proceed with releasing this single, it also risks placing his family at a financial loss, which could lead to future legal implications.”
