PRP chieftain berates APC govt over electricity blackouts in Northern Nigeria

A chieftain of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Hon. Abdullahi Ahmed Wakili, has condemned the week-long power outage in the northern regions of the country, describing it as a “glaring testament to the incompetence of the APC-led administration.”

Wakili, who expressed his anger at the situation which has rendered many small scale businesses redundant, said persistent blackout shows a lack of accountability and transparency from the APC government.

In a strong-worded statement on Tuesday, Wakili who was the party’s senatorial candidate for Kaduna North in the 2023 general elections said:

“I consider it necessary to express my deep outrage and disappointment regarding the recent week-long electricity blackout that has engulfed our northern states.

“This abysmal failure of governance is a glaring testament to the incompetence of the APC-led administration, which has consistently prioritized political rhetoric over the essential needs of the people.”

Continuing, Wakili said:

“The persistent power outages have plunged our communities into darkness, crippling businesses, disrupting education, and exacerbating the already dire living conditions for our citizens.

“It is unacceptable that in the 21st century, we still experience such basic infrastructure failures, particularly when our nation is rich in resources and potential.

“The lack of accountability and transparency from the APC government is appalling. Time and again, we have seen empty promises and ineffective policies that have led to nothing but despair for the populace.

“The inability to provide consistent power is not merely an inconvenience; it is a violation of the fundamental rights of our people to access reliable electricity and, by extension, a decent quality of life.
