Russian President Vladimir Putin sounded the alarm today, stating that escalating tensions between Israel and Iran have pushed the Middle East to the edge of all-out conflict.

Speaking alongside Chinese President Xi Jinping at the BRICS+ meeting in Kazan, Putin emphasized, “The fighting that began in Gaza has spread to Lebanon, drawing in other regional countries. Confrontation between Israel and Iran has intensified, sparking a chain reaction.”

Putin cautioned that this volatile situation threatens to engulf the entire region. “All this resembles a chain reaction and puts the entire Middle East on the brink of a full-scale war,” he warned.

Putin advocated for greater representation from Asia, Africa and Latin America within the United Nations Security Council.

“We consider it necessary to increase the role of the countries of Asia, Africa and Latin America in the Security Council,” he stated.
