Canadian-American rapper Drake has filed a second lawsuit against Universal Music Group (UMG) for failing to stop the release of Kendrick Lamar’s song ‘Not Like Us’.

Drake asserted in the lawsuit filed in a Texas court that UMG should have taken action to stop the song’s release and demanded that Kendrick Lamar take down the lyrics that falsely accused him of being a pedophile and harboring S3X offenders because UMG knew about the song and its content before it was released.

The rapper’s company, Frozen Moments LLC, accused the companies of engaging in an illegal “scheme” to promote Lamar’s song using bots, payola, and other techniques.

In court papers filed earlier on Monday, Drake accused UMG and Spotify of conducting a “campaign to manipulate and saturate the streaming services and airwaves” with Lamar’s diss song.

Drake went on to claim that by publishing the song, UMG had selected one of their artists over another by funding and carrying out a scheme to use consumer panic to make the song a viral mega-hit single, which would have destroyed his career and generated enormous profits.

“UMG’s choice to saturate the music market with ‘Not Like Us’ comes at the expense of its other artists.” Artists like Drake, the petition went out of its way to note. “As Drake is Petitioner’s sole owner, and Petitioner owns the copyright to Drake’s entire catalogue, Petitioner suffered economic harm as a result of UMG’s scheme.”
