S’Africa accuses mother of Miss SA contestant Chidinma Adetshina of fraud, identity theft
Concerned authorities in South Africa have accused the mother Miss South Africa Contestant, Chidimma Vanessa Adetshina of fraud and identity theft following findings.
On August 7, the South African Department of Home Affairs released early findings from a probe into Chidinma Adetshina’s citizenship, which has been the topic of controversy due to her nationality.
The probe began after some social media users called on the pageant’s organizers to disqualify Ms Adetshina, claiming she is not a South African citizen.

The Department of Home Affairs stated, on Monday, August 5, 2024, that the event organizers sent them a request to check the citizenship of one candidate, Chidimma Adetshina. They added that the request was accompanied by written agreement from both Adetshina and her mother.
The Department of Home Affairs announced its early findings, stating that the mother of Miss SA contender Chidimma Adetshina may have stolen someone’s identity.
A statement issued by the Department of Home Affairs on Wednesday reads thus in part; “Prima facie reasons exist to believe that fraud and identity theft may have been committed by the person recorded in Home Affairs records as Chidimma Adetshina’s mother.
