Sari-Iganmu collapsed building: Lagos pulls down distressed structures
The Lagos State Government on Tuesday pulled down a two-storey building at number 18, Amusu Street, Sari-Iganmu, an adjoining residential structure to a building that collapsed earlier.
Recall that a distressed two-storey building was already marked for demolition at number 20 Amusu Street, Orile -Iganmu on Monday. There was no casualty recorded in the incident.
The tragedy was avoided as the building had been evacuated by officials of the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LABSCA) two weeks before the incident over distress state.
The State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, has, however, assured that steps were being taken by Governor Bababjide Sanwo-Olu-led administration to secure lives and property of residents.
