The Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has appealed to the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Chris Musa, to save residents of the state from the menace of the new terror group known as Lakurawa.

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) confirmed last week that the group has been making incursions into Kebbi and Sokoto, two of the states in Nigeria’s North-West.

Idris, according to a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Ahmed Idris. sent a high-powered delegation to the CDS on Sunday, urged the military to flush out the terrorists from the state and stop its spread like the case of Boko Haram.

The delegation was led by the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Atiku Bagudu.

“The minister informed the CDS that the essence of their visit was to intimate him on the need for immediate action to bring an end to the current security challenge facing not only Kebbi but the country at large,” the statement read.

“The delegation thanked the military as well as other security agencies for supporting the state in addressing the security challenges bedeviling the state.”

On his part, the CDS promised the delegation that the military would bring the perpetrators to book.
