On Thursday, the Senate confirmed three persons nominated by President Bola Tinubu as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs).

The confirmation of the nominees followed the presentation and adoption of the Senate Committee on Electoral Matters report at the plenary in Abuja.

The confirmed REC nominees are Tukur Abdulrazaq (North-West), Prof. Sunday Nwambam Aja (South-East), and Saseyib Feyijimi Ibeyemi (Ondo).

The Chairman of the Senate Committee on INEC, Alli Sharafadeen, in his presentation, said the three nominees were seasoned election managers who had been found suitable for the appointments.

He urged the nominees to put in their best in the discharge of their duties.
