Seven persons missing, about 100 houses submerged in Niger flood
At least seven persons were declared missing and about 100 houses and farmlands were submerged by flood in Niger State on Friday.
The Director-General of Niger State Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA), Alhaji Abdullah Baba Arah, confirmed the news to journalists in Minna.
He said the flooding was caused by hours of torrential rainfall.

He added that affected communities were in Mashegu and Magama local government areas of the state.
Arah said: “It is true NSEMA received reports of flood disasters in Mashegu and Magama LGAs. The flood was caused by torrential rainfall that lasted through the early hours of Friday, 30th August.
“Seven People have been declared missing, over 89 houses were affected, hundreds of hectares of farmlands, and 3 vehicles washed away.”
