Shettima departs Nigeria for Côte d’Ivoire to attend energy summit

Following President Bola Tinubu’s departure to France on Wednesday, Vice President Kashim Shettima, has also departed the country for Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, where he will attend the opening of the International Exhibition of Extractive and Energy Resources 2024 conference.

Senior Special Assistant to the Vice President on Media and Communication, Stanley Nkwocha, who disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday, said the event will hold from November 27 to December 2, at the Abidjan Exhibition Centre.

The statement titled ‘VP Shettima Leaves For Abidjan, To Attend SIREXE 2024 Opening Ceremony,’ states that Shettima’s visit is at the invitation of Côte d’Ivoire’s Vice President, Tiémoko Meyliet Koné.

“The SIREXE conference is an international event organised by the Government of Côte d’Ivoire that focuses on ‘Policies and Strategy for the Sustainable Development of the Extractive and Energy Industries,’ Nkwocha said.

“The VP will utilise the event to share Nigeria’s experience in the hydrocarbon exploration and production sectors. The Vice President is expected to return to Abuja later today Wednesday,” he added.
