Speed Darlington charged to court for defaming Burna Boy, may spend X-mas in detention
Darlington Okoye, popularly known in music circles as Speed Darlington or “AKPI, has now been charged to court for defaming Damini Ogulu, aka Burna Boy.
Recall that Ripples Nigeria had earlier reported that Deji Adeyanju, the lawyer representing Speed Darlington, disclosed that the Imo State Police Command has refused to release his client or take him before a judge to face trial.
Adeyanju, who made this known in a post shared on his X page, disclosed that his client is still being held on the excuse that the last time they released him, he traveled to the US.

But according to a recent update posted by Stanlie Eke, another attorney representing the musician, Speed Darlington has been charged with defaming Burna Boy.
Eke stated that although defamation is illegal in Nigeria, there is no reason for the police or any other law enforcement organization to get involved in the case.
In a post shared on his Instagram page, Eke hinted that Speed Darlington, who once taunted Burna Boy’s mother, may spend Christmas in detention as courts may close for the year by next week.
