Speed Darlington still in police custody, moved from Owerri to Abuja —Deji Adeyanju
Deji Adeyanju, the lawyer representing Darlington Okoye, popularly known in music circles as Speed Darlington or “AKPI,” has disclosed that his client has been transferred from Owerri to Abuja.
The lawyer made the revelation in a short video interview conducted by media personality Daddy Freeze. The interview discussed defamation and the fact that the matter is a civil case, not a criminal one.
‘‘UPDATE: Burna Boy/Speed Darlington arrest has been transferred from Owerri to Abuja, —Barrister Adeyanju says’’. Daddy Freeze wrote on his Instagram page after the interview.
Recall two days ago that Deji Adeyanju announced the arrest of Speed Darlington, who is notable for his eccentric personality and bold, often provocative social media presence.

In a post shared on his official X handle, Deji Adeyanju revealed that the police apprehended Speed Darlington upon his return to Nigeria for a show.
The lawyer and activist also disclosed that the ‘Ye’ crooner Burna Boy is behind Speed Darlington’s arrest.
He wrote, “Burna Boy is behind the harassment of Speed Darlington by the police. This is someone who has been singing against oppression and forming junior Fela, now oppressing Akpi.”
Recall that prior to his mother raising an alarm that he was missing, Speed Darlington had been arrested and held for days. He subsequently apologized and was freed for implying that Burna Boy is gay.
