Sunny Ade addresses longstanding rumours of dating late singer Onyeka Onwenu 

Veteran Nigerian juju singer and songwriter Chief Sunday Adeniyi Adegeye popularly known as King Sunny Ade has addressed longstanding rumours of dating late singer Onyeka Onwenu.

During a condolence visit to the late singer’s family, King Sunny Ade explained why he did not respond to rumours of a romantic relationship between himself and Onyeka Onwenu.

In an honest statement, KSA stated that the allegations were a calculated marketing tactic to support their popular song, “Wait for Me.” “That was a gimmick we did,” he disclosed. For the music, that is. Our goal was to introduce “Wait for Me.” People used to mistake her for my girlfriend back then. She has never said yes or no to me.

KSA also gave Onwenu emotional accolades, calling her an amazing woman who provided priceless guidance and assistance throughout their working relationship. “She agrees to have a seat with you. ‘Can I chip in for some advice?’ she used to ask. And the guidance was consistently first-rate,” he reflected.
