Super Eagles beat Luxembourg 3-1

Nigeria’s Super Eagles continued their blissful run on Tuesday with a 3-1 win over the Red Lions of Luxembourg at the Stade Josy Barthel.

The win, which is the second under caretaker coach Salisu Yusuf after Friday’s 1-0 win over Mali in France.

Brown Ideye opened scoring in the 36th minute from a rebound shot from Ogenyi Onazi after Umar Aminu outmuscled two defenders.

Manchester City striker, Kelechi Iheanacho, whose goal on Friday gave Nigeria a 1-0 victory over Mali, scored Eagles’ second goal in the 69 minutes from a defensive error.

Luxembourg pulled a goal back on 87 minutes through Vincent Thill but Watford striker Odion Ighalo extended Nigeria’s lead after a solo run by Iheanacho in stoppage time to make it 3-1.
