The Super Eagles of Nigeria have sealed qualification for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) with two games left in the qualifying series.

The Eagles were set to seal qualification if they avoid defeat against Benin Republic in their matchday five fixture billed for Thursday night.

But qualification came early as their spot in the Morocco tournament was confirmed after Libya defeated Rwanda 1-0 in Kigali earlier in the day.

Both Libya and Rwanda would hope that the Super Eagles defeat Benin Republic later in the day, to stand a chance of qualifying for the tournament.

The Eagles are on 10 points and would only play their two remaining games hoping to finish top of the group.

The last time the Eagles faced Benin on matchday 1 ended 3-0 in Uyo with Ademola Lookman and Victor Osimhen getting the goals.
