Suspected bandits abduct Imam, 9 others in Sokoto mosque

Gunmen suspected to be bandits on Thursday attacked a mosque in Bushe community, Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State, and kidnapped 10 worshippers.

Residents told journalists the attackers stormed the mosque during the early morning Subhi prayer and whisked the victims, including the Imam to an unknown destination.

The spokesman for the state police command, Ahmed Rufai, confirmed the attack on Friday in Sokoto.

He said police operatives are working with other security agents to rescue the victims.
