Three dead, 14 injured in Jigawa auto crash
At least three people died and 14 others were injured in an auto crash along the old Gwaram road in Jigawa State on Tuesday.
The spokesman for the state police command, Lawan Shiisu, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday in Dutse.
He said a J5 bus carrying 17 passengers and a trailer were involved in the accident which occured at about 7:00 p. m., on the highway.
The spokesman said: “On receiving the report, our officers responded promptly.
“The victims were swiftly evacuated to Gwaram Cottage Hospital for medical attention.”
“Sadly, three passengers succumbed to their injuries shortly after being admitted to the hospital.

“The deceased have been identified as Idris Nuhu, 30, Shamsuddeen Ibrahim, 29, and Khadija Kabiru, a six-year-old girl, all from Laya village.
“Five passengers received treatment for minor injuries and were discharged, while the remaining occupants of the bus are still receiving medical care.
” The police had launched an investigation and are actively working to locate the trailer driver involved in the incident.
“We will pursue every lead to bring the trailer driver to justice. ”
