Three dead, seven injured in Wisconsin school shooting
Three people, including the suspected shooter, were killed Monday in a tragic school shooting at the Abundant Life Christian School in Madison, Wisconsin.
The private Christian school, which has about 400 students, became the scene of chaos and grief when a student allegedly opened fire.
Madison Police Chief Shon Barnes confirmed the fatalities during a press briefing, stating, “The victims include a minor who is believed to have carried out this horrific act. Seven others have been transported to the hospital with injuries ranging from minor to life-threatening.”
Barnes clarified that responding officers found the suspected shooter, a juvenile, dead inside the school building.

Earlier during the briefing, conflicting figures emerged, with a spokeswoman suggesting five fatalities and five injuries. However, the police department later issued a correction, confirming three deaths and seven injuries.
The White House reported that President Joe Biden had been briefed on the incident. Meanwhile, Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers expressed his condolences and support for the affected community.
“We are praying for the kids, educators, and entire Abundant Life school community as we await more information,” Evers said on X (formerly Twitter). “We are also deeply grateful for the first responders who acted quickly to respond to this tragedy.”
Police have not yet disclosed the motive behind the shooting or the identities of the victims. Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident, which marks yet another devastating attack in a U.S. school.
Further updates are expected as officials work to provide clarity and support to the grieving community.
