Tinubu orders manhunt for hunters’ killers in Edo

President Bola Tinubu has condemned the murder of travelling hunters in Edo State.

At least seven hunters were intercepted by members of a local vigilante group on suspicion that they were kidnappers in the Uromi community of Esan North Local Government Area of the state and killed on Thursday.

The president, in a statement issued on Friday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, expressed shock at the dastardly act and, directed the police and other security agencies to fish out the culprits and punish them accordingly.

Tinubu commiserated with the families of the affected victims and assured them that criminals would not be allowed to shed the blood of innocent Nigerians in vain.

The president noted that jungle justice had no place in Nigeria, and all Nigerians had the freedom to move freely in any part of the country.

He commended Governor Monday Okpebholo and community leaders in Uromi for their swift response to avert tension in the community.
