Tinubu returns home after attending AU meeting

President Bola Tinubu has returned to Abuja from Accra, Ghana, where he attended the 6th Mid-Year Coordination Meeting of the African Union.

 

He arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on Sunday night.

 

The president was received at the airport by his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, and other senior government officials.

In the Ghanaian capital, Tinubu briefed the African leaders on the achievements and challenges of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) where he is the chairman.

 

He said the sub-regional body had allocated at least $13 million to support counter-terrorism efforts in frontline and humanitarian efforts in the sub-region under his watch.

Tinubu left the country for Accra on Saturday.
