Army commander warns soldiers against harassing innocent civilians

Troops of the Nigerian Army on Thursday killed eight suspected bandits during a fighting patrol in Birnin Gwari local government area of Kaduna State.

The state’s Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, disclosed this in a statement in Kaduna.

He said the troops recovered three AK-47 rifles, eight AK-47 magazines, one magazine carrier, six motorcycles, three mobile phones, two Baofeng radio sets, and three pairs of civilian clothes in the operation that took place in the Kampanin Doka general area of Birnin Gwari LGA.

The commissioner added that the troops engaged bandits around the Gayam general area and many of the criminals escaped with gunshot wounds.
