Army commander warns soldiers against harassing innocent civilians

Troops of the 8 Division Garrison in Sokoto have killed several suspected terrorists in the state.

The Director Army of Public Relations, Brig-Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja.

He said many terrorists escaped with gunshot wounds during the operation at Tukandu Village in the North-West state.

The spokesman added that three AK-47 Rifles, one PKT Gun, 125 rounds of 7.62 mm Special ammunition, two Rocket-propelled gun bombs, and nine motorcycles were recovered by troops in the operation.

“In a discreet operation against marauding terrorists in Sokoto, troops’ fierce onslaught terminated many of the terrorists.

“Many other terrorists fled with gunshot wounds,” Nwachukwu added.
