UNILORIN expels two students, rusticates three for misconduct

UNILORIN resumes virtual classes

The University of Ilorin has disciplined five students for various misconducts on campus. Among them, two students have been expelled, while three others have been rusticated for one academic session.

According to a statement released on Monday by Kunle Akogun, the Director of Corporate Affairs at the University, the Vice Chancellor approved the expulsion and rustication following recommendations from the Students’ Disciplinary Committee on Friday, July 5, 2024.

The students who were expelled are Olayoonu Amos from the Department of Human Kinetics and Ibrahim Taoreed from the Department of Education Management.

Those rusticated for one academic session are Olabanji Toluwanimi David (Matric. No. 21/52HL103), from the Department of Communication and Information Science, Faculty of Communication and Information Sciences, Dosunmu Ezekiel Olabanji (Matric. No. 20/66MG101), from the Department of Marketing, Faculty of Management Sciences and Obadairo-Yusuf Adedoyin Babatunde (Matric. No. 20/52HP052), from the Department of Telecommunication Science, Faculty of Communication and Information Sciences.
