US Mission condemns killing of Kaduna Catholic priest by bandits
The United States Mission in Nigeria on Friday condemned the killing of a Catholic priest in Kaduna State, Rev. Fr. Sylvester Okechukwu, by suspected bandits.
Okechukwu was abducted from his residence the terrorists on Tuesday night and killed the following day.
He was attached to o St Mary’s Catholic Church in Tachiri, Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State before his death.
In a statement in Abuja. the US Mission described the priest’s killing as senseless.
The statement read: “The U.S. Mission is distressed by the brutal and senseless killing of Reverend Father Sylvester Okechukwu in Kaduna State, Nigeria.
“We strongly condemn this horrific act of violence. We extend our deepest condolences to the family, congregation, and community of Father.”
