Work permits stalls Adi's Crystal Palace move
The deal to bring Nigeria and Portland Timbers striker Fanendo Adi to Crystal Palace has hit the rock due to work permit.
The 25 year-old who is yet to be capped by Nigeria joined the Timbers from Danish side FC Copenhagen in 2014 on an initial loan deal which later became permanent and has since established
himself as one of the top forwards in the MLS, netting a club-record 33 goals in 69 regular season appearances.
Both Crystal Palace and French club St. Etienne are chasing the 6ft 4in front man’s signature, while Chinese Super League outfit Shanghai Shenhua are also said to be among his potential suitors.
But Adi’s representatives, Onfield Management, confirmed that
Palace boss Alan Pardew had shown interest in their client along with several other European clubs, but his lack of international caps.
