Workers boo Minister Ngige, refuse to allow him address them (Video)
The annual May Day rally to mark the celebration of workers’ Day for this year was marred in Abuja as workers who gathered for the event refused to allow the Minister of Labour, Dr Chris Ngige address them.
The workers at the Eagle Square, Abuja as soon as the minister took the microphone to deliver the ceremonial federal government’s address to them began booing him, and would not allow him talk.

They kept shouting “we no want” “we no want”, and would not stop.
Not even the pleas from their leaders would pacify them.
The minister had to give in to their demands and left the microphone, without his speech.
This is the first time, a workers’ day celebration is marked without an address from the federal government, either physically or in the form of a statement.

The workers served Ngige right, a minister who cannot protect the interest of those he’s representing. He’s a wrong minister of Labour. Very good for him!

That was the best way to make their annoyance known, they had the opportunity and they made very good use of it. I cannot give them any fault, I know how bad government works are treated in this country.

Booing the minister makes them childish. That’s not a best way to show grievances, they should have heard the message of hopes from the Federal government because Ngige there represented Buhari.

So are you implying that, because Ngige represented Buhari, they should not depict their greviances? You know nothing about what you said. If it were to be Buhari present , they would have done same, at least, that’s better than protesting or embarking on strike. Workers are not happy at all.

Then if they are not happy, the fact that they made the minister not speak and deliver good notes from the Federal government, has that made them happy? Or has it solved their problems?

I think that audience felt they may never have another opportunity again to extend their gieviances… Notwithstanding, man is entittle to his discretion…

Thank God they didn’t beat up because it won’t have been funny. Ngige deserves to be shut up because he is unproductive, he hasn’t done anything meaningful for the country since he assumed minister of Labour.

You think so? All ministers under Baba are productive, Baba don’t tolerate mediocres in his government.

Our labour must give us effective representation…
But what if he had a good news to deliver to the workers…
